Independence

Posted in Group:

As I get older, I find that it is more and more difficult to be the independent person that I used to be. I am having more and more mobility issues, I have to depend on a wheelchair more and more, and I am becoming more dependent on others. It is a difficult adjustment, and somewhat scary.

This is very hard, but it sounds like you are very determined to keep what you can of your independence that you have. Focus on what you can do by yourself to keep yourself positive thinking. Make sure you surround yourself with good positive people and this site will help you too. This is a great group. I hope this helps you. If you have any other questions I will be glad to lend an ear and I would be glad to try to help you.

I think that you should just look at the chair as a way of transportation. Don't look at it as if you are stuck in it.
